HEALTH LECTURES

At Migdalia you will be empowered to take charge of your health through evidence based education. You will participate in life-changing health conferences led by local and international experts. You will receive up to date evidence-based information, about how your body and mind works and how to adjust your lifestyle to the laws of physiology.

At Migdalia we approach the patient as a rational being able to make informed decisions when we honestly present to them the evidences and the facts. They have the right to know the truth including the medical reality about themselves. Also, our approach goes beyond simple veterinary care (patient as a “case”), we look at the suffering person as a whole: body, mind and spirit.  

We take time to educate the patient about some essential realities like:

  • The physiology of body organs or systems that are diseased – i.e. organic law governing their functioning under normal conditions.
  • The pathophysiology of these organs and systems when they are damaged, as well as the risk/causal factors involved. Risk factors are those factors (mostly behavioral- a unhealthy lifestyle) that violates, disrupts, disturbs reversibly or irreversibly destroy the physiology (physiological mechanism) of the organs and systems.
  • Biologic (Healthy) Lifestyle, i.e. the behavior or lifestyle that respects the laws of physiology and strengthens physiological functions, respecting the organic laws of the human being.
  • The fact that we can prevent chronic diseases largely through a healthy lifestyle and that we can stop and reverse the evolution of chronic degenerative diseases, especially in early stages of the disease (e.g. for diabetes patients who are in the first decade since diabetes was diagnosed up to 70% of them can obtain diabetes remission through energic lifestyle change. If overweight and lost 15 kilograms the probability of remission increases to 86%!

In the regular clinical or medical office setting we do not have time to inform the patient that the (almost universal) “veterinary” approach to patients, the duo: diagnosis – drug prescription is not too successful in dealing with most chronic diseases – hence the name of chronic degenerative diseases. Despite the medications the disease degenerate, it worsens. We don’t have time to tell patients that this tandem diagnosis/prescription is not the only possible approach to the disease. Unfortunately, regular medical care of chronic diseases at the primary care medical office or in the hospital consist mainly in the delivery of chemical compounds/prescription long term.

While drugs are important and sometime life-saving, we have to recognize that healthy foods are full with hundreds of compounds good for health and they should be regarded as medicinal remedies, which there are strong evidence that they are.

Therefore through Health Lectures we empower individuals to be able to participate in decision making about his own health and destiny.

Cooking

Good nutrition can prevent 50% or heart attacks and strokes, 35% of cancers, and most of the diabetes type 2. Also healthy therapeutic diets can help stop heart disease and diabetes type 2 and depression.

Therefore, in our lectures but specially in our daily cooking classes you will learn new skills in order to prevent and reverse heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity and depression. You will learn how to use tasty whole plant-based diets to fight back these chronic diseases. Our wellness coach will guide you in your journey to health, including daily whole plant based cooking presentation and nutritional counselling.

Of course, what we do during one whole year cannot be erased by 10 days or one week of detox, no matter how healthy that is. Therefore, in our daily cooking classes you will learn to combine raw foods with healthy, prepared whole foods dishes into a dietary pattern you can follow at home regularly, a la long.

The recipes learned here are tasty, easy to prepare, with most common ingredients and are part of a planned menu meant to stop and reverse most chronic diseases!

FASTING AND DETOX

We do not believe in panacea, that is in one remedy cure-all diseases! Of course, what we do during one whole year cannot be erased by 10 days or one week of detox, no matter how healthy that is. 10 days of detox cannot reverse a life of bad lifestyle, cannot reset everything, cannot clean the arteries, cannot give you a blank check to go back and live a unhealthy lifestyle. Therefore, in our daily cooking classes you will learn to combine raw foods with healthy, prepared whole foods dishes into a dietary pattern you can follow at home regularly, a la long.

 However, we recognize the potential and goodness of caloric restriction and temporary restriction to a simpler diet approach.
